The assassin in black coat entered the cave, as she tried to flick her zippo. In the pale yellow light she saw him unload his weapons. First came out the Glock 34, followed by an MK23, followed by a grenade from the insides of his coat. He lifted his left knee while perfectly balancing himself on his right foot and undid the ankle knife holster placing it on the ground.
She stood in the shadows and waited for his next move. He pushed a heavy boulder an inch to the right and slipped his finger into a ring behind it. Sliding it to the left, he opened a small secret cavity where he stored his ammo. He returned the unused ones he had taken earlier.
As he was readying to close the compartment, she playfully tossed the zippo near his foot, causing him to trip over it. In the process of falling he tried to grab something for support. But what he clutched in his hand was not enough. He landed with the thud on the ground. His heart froze and his eyes widened as he saw the object in the palm of his hand. A grenade. And it’s pin was stuck in a crevice of the rocky walls of the hidden recess.
Boom.
The cave was buried among the debris of collapsed rocks. She stood outside admiring her handiwork and her creativity. For she alone knew the irony in his death. He had just returned after bombing the Senate while in session. He may have accomplished his mission, but the lonely assassin's fate was in her hands. For she was the Goddess of Death.
